Measured responses usually involve growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor 1, known as IGF-1. Growth hormone rises in bursts and is difficult to sample reliably, while IGF-1 shifts more slowly and can be assessed from a single blood draw. Studies therefore treat IGF-1 as the more practical pharmacodynamic marker. Both are indirect, showing that the receptor was engaged rather than that the peptide reached a particular concentration. Direct exposure measurement requires an assay aimed at the molecule itself.
Published work tends to frame tesamorelin as a tool for studying the GHRH axis and as a compound with measurable effects on body composition. Reports often describe visceral adipose tissue as an endpoint, assessed by imaging rather than by inference. Analytical sections commonly describe liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry to confirm identity and purity, because immunoassays may cross-react with related fragments. Where results diverge between studies, differences in assay choice, sampling timing, and population are frequent explanations offered. Whether effects persist after treatment stops remains an open question.
Tesamorelin binds the growth hormone–releasing hormone receptor on pituitary somatotroph cells. The receptor signals through the Gs protein, raising intracellular cAMP and activating protein kinase A. That cascade triggers release of stored growth hormone in pulses rather than a steady stream. Because the drug acts at the receptor that normally controls this process, its effect depends on the body's own signaling architecture rather than on a synthetic pathway. The resulting hormone profile reflects the timing of each pulse, not only its size.

Identity and purity are assessed by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography, which separates the peptide from related impurities. Mass spectrometry, often coupled to liquid chromatography, confirms molecular mass and detects chemical modifications. Peptide mapping and amino acid analysis can verify sequence integrity. Water content is measured by Karl Fischer titration, and residual solvents may be checked by gas chromatography. These methods together support batch-to-batch consistency and routine quality control.
Lyophilized tesamorelin is generally stored refrigerated at temperatures between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. The solid form is comparatively stable when kept dry and protected from light. Moisture uptake can promote aggregation and degradation, so sealed containers with desiccant are common. Researchers typically avoid repeated temperature cycling, which may stress the peptide. Documentation accompanying reference materials usually specifies a shelf life under these conditions.
The Colonists are an extraterrestrial species and are also the primary group of antagonists in the science fiction television show The X-Files as well as the first X-Files feature film. The mystery revolving around their identity and purpose is slowly revealed across the course of the series. In the series' plot, the Colonists are collaborating with a group of United States government officials known as the Syndicate in a plan to colonize the Earth, correlating to their name.
Since most venomous snakes move about during the dawn dusk or night, one may expect more encounters during the early morning or late afternoon, though many species such as the Western Diamondback may be encountered at any time of day and in fact most bites occur during the month of April when both snakes and humans are out and about and encounter one another hiking, in yards, or on pathways. Children playing within short distances of their homes crawl under porches, jump into bushes, pull boards of wood from a pile and are bitten. Most however occur when people handle rattlesnakes. In South Asia, it was previously believed that Indian cobras, common kraits, Russell's viper, and carpet vipers were the most dangerous; other snakes, however, may also cause significant problems in this area of the world.
in the gray short-tailed opossum (Monodelphis domestica), a marsupial, MHC spans 3.95 Mb, yielding 114 genes, 87 shared with humans. Marsupial MHC genotypic variation lies between eutherian mammals and birds, taken as the minimal MHC encoding, but is closer in organization to that of nonmammals. The IPD-MHC Database was created which provides a centralised repository for sequences of the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) from a number of different species. As of the release on December 19, 2019, the database contains information on 77 species.
The breasts are principally composed of adipose, glandular, and connective tissues. Because these tissues have hormone receptors, their sizes and volumes fluctuate according to the hormonal changes particular to thelarche (sprouting of breasts), menstruation (egg production), pregnancy (reproduction), lactation (feeding of offspring), and menopause (end of menstruation).
== Structure == The territorial matrix is composed of collagen fibrils and proteoglycans, forming a dense matrix around groups of chondrocytes, distinguishing itself from neighboring zones. It is located between the pericellular and interterritorial matrix. The territorial matrix is smaller in size (5-10 μm) than the interterritorial matrix, but larger than the pericellular matrix., The collagen that exists in this region is primarily type II collagen, with some types IX and XI. It is arranged in a finer, more interwoven network than in the interterritorial matrix. Proteoglycans like aggrecan and decorin provide resistance to compressive loads. Several glycoproteins are also present and play roles in the matrix assembly and stabilization. The close packing of the fibrils make the region denser, forming a mechanical barrier around chondrocytes.

== Nomenclature == This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases, specifically those acting on the CH-OH group of donor with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is shikimate:NADP+ 3-oxidoreductase. Other names in common use include:
Few deviations, misregulations, and mutations are found in organisms because they are often detrimental or lethal to the organism. This is why chondrocyte maturation is so tightly regulated. If they mature too quickly or slowly there is a large possibility the organism will not survive gestation or infancy. One gene that is closely involved in skeletal formation is Xylt1. Normally, this gene is responsible for catalyzing the addition of glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains to proteoglycans, which are used during cell signaling to control processes such as cell growth, proliferation, and adhesion. The two main proteoglycans that are used in this process are heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans (CSPGs) which are present at high levels in the chondrocyte extracellular matrix and are crucial in regulating chondrocyte maturation. When the GAG chain functions properly, it controls the maturation speed of chondrocytes and ensures enough cells gather in the cartilage anlage. Xylt1 is an essential gene in regards to chondrocytes and proper skeletal formation, and is a key factor in the close regulation of maturation. However, the mutation pug of the Xylt1 gene was studied in mice in 2014 and was found to cause the pre-maturation of chondrocytes. Animals with homozygous pug alleles display dwarfism and have considerably shorter bones compared to wild-type animals. These organisms show a reduction of typical Xylt1 gene activity, as well as a reduction in GAG chain levels.
The middle row was almost entirely damaged, although scenes of the Preaching Buddha were identifiable. The panels can be numbered 5 to 9, but 5 and 9 being half-panels going over the adjacent walls. In one of the panels appear soldiers similar to those of the Cave of the Painters. The bottom of the wall contained fragments of panels showing: 10) the Parinirvana, 11) devotees looking at the Buddha being put in a coffin, 11) The Buddha in his coffin, and 12) would have been the Cremation of the Buddha. The upper part of the mural was removed by Grünwedel, and sent to Germany in panels, where some are still held in the Museum für Indische Kunst. This presentation of the various events of the life of the Buddha in successive panels reminds of examples from Gandhara, such as the Sikri stupa, although the panels in the Cave of the Peacock are remarkable by their rigorous chronological arrangement. Similar types of narrative panels have also been found in Andhra. The dome over the cella is composed of eight pairs of segments filled with a flying apsara among peacock feather. Numerous devatas and Buddhas of the past are painted around the dome. According to Historian of Art Benjamin Rowland, commenting one of the remaining fragments, the "group of sword-bearing figures are recognizable Indian ethnic types". Pictures of monks and one Kuchean donor holding a basket of flowers, all labeled with Brahmi inscriptions, appeared on the door wall. In the art of Kizil explanatory labels were often added to pictures of donors.
== Appearances == Half-Life opens on Gordon Freeman as a research assistant at the Anomalous Materials wing of the Black Mesa Research Facility. After donning the Hazardous Environment suit for an experiment, Freeman survives an interdimensional "resonance cascade", taking up a crowbar as his signature weapon and fighting his way across the facility against both extradimensional invaders and hostile US marines to seal the rift. In Half-Life 2, after being kept in stasis for nearly two decades, Freeman battles the Combine Empire to liberate Earth. He gains legendary status as part of the resistance against the Combine forces and sparks a rebellion, ultimately destroying the Citadel, a major Combine stronghold. The G-Man rescues Freeman after this critical event, praising his accomplishments and placing him back in stasis. In Episode One, Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance work to stabilize the Citadel's core to prevent a catastrophic explosion. In Episode Two, they work together to transport crucial data to close a forming super portal. After a revelation from the G-Man about saving Alyx, they learn about the Borealis, a research vessel with the potential to cause significant events. The game ends with Alyx mourning her father's death at the hands of a Combine Advisor. Half-Life: Alyx, set five years before Half-Life 2, follows Alyx Vance trying to locate Gordon. She infiltrates a Combine vault, believing it holds Gordon, but instead releases the G-Man.
== Evolution == Corticotrophin releasing hormone (CRH) evolved ~500 million years ago in an organism that subsequently gave rise to both chordates and arthropods. The binding site for this was single CRH like receptor. In vertebrates this gene was duplicated leading to the extant CRH1 and CRH2 forms. Additionally four paralogous ligands developed including CRH, urotensin-1/urocortin, urocortin II and urocortin III.

Chronic cholestasis occurs in primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). PBC is a progressive autoimmune liver disease in which small intrahepatic bile ducts are selectively destroyed, leading to cholestasis, biliary fibrosis, cirrhosis, and eventually liver failure that requires transplantation. Prevalence of PBC ranges from 19 to 402 cases/million depending on geographic location, with a 9:1 female preponderance and median ages of diagnosis of 68.5 years for females and 54.5 years for males. At diagnosis, 50% of PBC patients are asymptomatic, indicative of an early stage of disease, while another 50% report fatigue and daytime sleepiness. Other symptoms include pruritus and skin lesions, and in prolonged cholestasis, malabsorption and steatorrhea leading to fat-soluble vitamin deficiency. Disease progression is accompanied by intensifying portal hypertension and hepatosplenomegaly. Clinically, diagnosis generally requires a 1:40 or greater titer of anti-mitochondrial antibody (AMA) against PDC-E2 and elevated alkaline phosphatase persisting for 6+ months. Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is an FDA-approved first-line treatment for PBC. At moderate doses, UDCA has been demonstrated to slow disease progression and improve transplant-free survival. A complete response is achieved in 25–30% patients, and similar survival as the general population is expected in 2/3 of patients on UDCA. For the 1/3 non-responders, obeticholic acid (OCA) is approved by the FDA as a second-line treatment. The precise etiology of PBC remains poorly understood, though a clearer picture is starting to emerge.
=== Time === Moscow serves as the reference point for the time zone used in most of European Russia, Belarus, and Crimea. These areas operate in Moscow Standard Time (MSK, МСК), which is 3 hours ahead of UTC (or UTC+3). Daylight saving time is no longer observed in Moscow. According to geographical longitude, the average solar noon in Moscow occurs at 12:30.
=== Bone density === No evidence has been identified to suggest Mirena affects bone mineral density (BMD). Two small studies, limited to studying BMD in the forearm, show no decrease in BMD. One of the studies showed at seven years of use, similar BMD at the midshaft of the ulna and at the distal radius as nonusers matched by age and BMI. In addition, BMD measurements were similar to the expected values for women in the same age group as the participants. The authors of the study said their results were predictable, since it is well established that the main factor responsible for bone loss in women is hypoestrogenism, and, in agreement with previous reports, they found estradiol levels in Mirena users to be normal.

It acts on the growth hormone–releasing hormone receptor, a Gs-coupled receptor found on pituitary somatotroph cells. Activation raises cAMP and prompts pulsatile hormone release.
IGF-1 reflects growth hormone activity but changes slowly and can be measured from one sample. Growth hormone itself is pulsatile, which makes single measurements hard to interpret.
The receptor pathway is well described, but how individual responses vary and what governs long-term outcomes remain open questions. Reported differences across studies are often attributed to assay and population factors.
